What is Simpressions?

Simpressions is a Practice Firm; a unique adult learning environment which simulates all administrative functions of a real business; however, the production and transfer of goods is virtual. Up to 15 participants at any given time work in real departments of a simulated business, and devote 20% of their time to an active job search.
 

Who is eligible to work for Simpressions?

Unemployed Individuals who are:

  • job ready (need work experience only)
  • residents of York Region/ Bradford West Gwillimbury
  • legally entitled to work in Canada
 

What does the Practice Firm provide "Employees"?

The Practice Firm can provide work experience to participants in the following areas:

  • Accounting
  • Administrative & Clerical
  • Information Technology
  • Communications
  • Purchasing
  • Graphic Arts
  • Marketing & Sales
  • Human Resources

How do I join Simpressions?

Participants are 'hired' on a weekly basis for a maximum of 8 weeks, 35 hours/week. Participants are selected through a hiring process, with each participant having a Case Manager.
